Open letter to Barclays Bank

Epping Quakers have written an open letter to Barclays Bank regarding their support for the fracking of shale gas in the UK.

Since 2011 Quakers have, as a faith community, been committed to take action collectively to build a low-carbon, sustainable community.

As Quakers, we call on Barclays to remove its support for fracking and instead invest in renewable energy.

It is Quaker Week at present. Once a year Quakers in Britain make an extra effort to let people know what they might encounter at a Quaker Meeting and to provide a bit of information.  One method Quakers have used to do this is the Quaker Tapestry this recently visited Chelmsford Cathedral and a group of Epping Friends went to visit. You can read about that visit, recent study sessions and see future dates in our October newsletter

If you have ever wondered about the Quakers then do come and visit us this Sunday or any Sunday – we will be glad to welcome you.

Epping Quakers are lucky to have a beautiful simple space in which to meet.

We share this space with a number of regular hirers who run courses, healthy living groups and a wide range of activities. We offer a friendly, flexible space (accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs) with handy side rooms and the use of a kitchen for hot drinks.

At present the Meeting House is available for regular hire both Monday and Wednesday during the day and most evenings. You can see more about our rooms and pricing on our website.
